chapter 1 - the undoing power of forgiveness

When you are in the process of uncovering the pain held within and without, it very often will come across in your awareness & perception as an event that has happened, a person that you know, or a conceptual structure of the world in addition to an emotion or state. That process, that awareness, highlights blame, attack, and defense programs that make it easy to justify holding onto victimhood, trauma, protection, defenses, and tendencies to hide if we are not also introducing the spirit of forgiveness into the equation.

The exposure of this process, when you bring conscious awareness to it - inviting in spirit, the presence of the Self- is what reveals the connection between the events or the story we hold as our identity to the realm of belief and thought. When you consciously open to changing your mind, you begin to see that the direction you thought this was going - from event to thought or memory - is actually the opposite, it is from belief and thought outward to the events we perceive that is the way of experience and perceptual reality in this realm. We are the dreamers from whom the dream springs, we are not what we have made of ourselves in the dream.

Forgiveness is the process of transmutation of the world of fear, or maybe better to understand it as an undoing. Not a changing of one thing to another, but a recognition and a realization through conscious immersion and acceptance of the Self as One that all is as it ever was in the peace of god - the only true reality. It is truly understanding that the world we believe we live in is in fact - and this is the only fact here - not reality. Forgiveness is the letting go of the world from our entanglement with it by refusing to see the false and claim it real. It is the choice to see only the real and in doing so release all parts of Self - within us and without us (other people) - back into the unity that they are. It is a force and movement of healing.
